Hyundai GTL Groundbreaking Ceremony Dome Projection

A giant project placed in the vast deserts of Turkmenistan, Hyundai Engineering GTL Facility, was going to be celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony. After the initial brief and on-site expeditions we started to develop the concept.

Under the desert sky, one of the feelings that has a strong presence is being inside a humongous blue dome. Based on this seed we have grown a three dome architectural concept of which the biggest one has a 35m diameter.

We decided to use the inner surface of the largest dome as a canvas for a special video mapping show. Beside the main event design and set up of the 3 different domes, we also produced some contents for dome projection. We have designed a technical setup consisting of 27 projectors with the total capacity of 540.000 ansilumen. Our staff that was more 150 people, worked extensively to carry out all the architectural, technical and organizational tasks in extreme heat.

Unfortunately, on the previous day of the event, the groundbreaking ceremony was postponed to a further date.
